As a matter of fact, no sperm could possible survive for long under a truly acidic environment. However, a reasonably acidic environment will favor the sturdier female-bearing X–sperm more than the weaker male-bearing Y-sperm because by the time Ovulation occurs, chances are most of the Y-sperm would have ceased to exist. Acidity and alkalinity are cyclical phenomena during a fertility cycle.
